The Emerging Public Leaders of Ghana (EPL Ghana), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is now recruiting its 8th cohort of the prestigious Public Service Fellowship (PSF). This flagship one-year program prepares young Ghanaian professionals to become ethical, effective leaders who will drive innovation and strengthen the country’s public sector.
Since its launch, EPL Ghana has built a national network of young leaders committed to improving public institutions, advancing gender equality, strengthening peace and security systems, and transforming service delivery across Ghana.
About the Fellowship
EPL Ghana’s Public Service Fellowship is a one-year, full-time leadership development program that empowers young professionals with the skills, mentorship, and practical experience needed to build successful careers in public service.
Now in its seventh year, the Fellowship has:
- Supported 175 fellows, with 46% women
- Created pathways into Ghana’s Civil Service and policy-focused CSOs
- Built a strong alumni network influencing governance and public sector reform
- Launched gender-focused and peace & security projects that are shaping national policies
Recent initiatives include:
- Women on the Rise, a gender-equity program with Co-Impact and the Office of the Head of Civil Service, training over 70 gender desk officers and projected to support 500+ young women in public service.
- PEACE Fellowship, launched with the U.S. Embassy and FOSDA, upskilling public sector security professionals serving high-risk communities in Northern Ghana.
Eligibility Criteria (from the official recruitment notice)
Applicants must:
- Be a Ghanaian national with a valid Ghana Card
- Be a full-time resident of Ghana
- Be aged 22–32 years
- Hold an undergraduate degree
- Have completed national service and hold the certificate
- Demonstrate commitment to a career in public service
- Show integrity, nationalism, service, and volunteerism
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Have strong written and spoken English skills
- Demonstrate innovation and strong problem-solving abilities
- Be ready to provide a police clearance certificate if selected
