Position Details

  • Title: Research Assistant / Pre-Doctoral Fellow
  • Location: Stockholm, Sweden (must be based in Sweden for the duration of employment)
  • Type: Full-time preferred; part-time possible for candidates completing a master’s degree.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with SITE faculty and contribute to both academic and policy-oriented projects. Key tasks include:

  • Supporting faculty research projects through:
    • Data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
    • Coding and empirical analysis using quantitative tools.
  • Assisting with literature reviews and summarizing research fields.
  • Contributing to policy reports and briefs, including drafting written material.

Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate strong technical skills and a clear interest in academic research. Required qualifications include:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in economics (required).
    • Master’s degree completed or in progress (strongly preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in one or more of the following: Stata, R, Python, SQL, Julia, LaTeX.
  • Language Skills:
    • Excellent written and spoken English.
    • Swedish is an advantage but not required.
    • Knowledge of Ukrainian, Russian, or other Slavic languages is a plus.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Legal right to work in Sweden.
    • Prior experience as a research assistant is a plus.
