If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, early-stage founder, or innovator looking to build a high-impact startup in Africa, Antler East Africa is offering a unique opportunity to turn your ambition into a scalable business. Through its 10-week in-person residency program in Nairobi, Antler provides founders with the structure, mentorship, capital, and global network needed to start strong and scale fast.
Antler is a global early-stage venture capital firm and startup generator operating in over 30 locations worldwide. In East Africa, Nairobi serves as its regional hub, bringing together some of the most driven and talented founders on the continent.
What Antler East Africa Offers
Antler supports founders from day zero, meaning you do not need a fully formed startup to apply. The program is designed to help you move from idea (or even no idea) to a venture-backed company within a short, focused period.
1. Finding the Right Co-Founder
One of the biggest challenges in entrepreneurship is finding the right team. Antler curates a strong cohort of founders with diverse backgrounds—technology, business, operations, and more—making it easier to meet potential co-founders whose skills complement yours. Throughout the residency, participants collaborate, test ideas, and form teams organically.
2. Idea Validation and Mentorship
Founders receive hands-on guidance from experienced entrepreneurs, operators, and Antler partners who have built and scaled companies globally. You will learn how to validate problems, test solutions, refine your business model, and position your startup for growth.
3. Access to Venture Capital
Teams that are ready to pitch at the end of the residency present to the Antler Investment Committee. Successful teams can receive $100,000 for 10% equity. In addition, Antler offers the opportunity for an extra $100,000 as a follow-on investment to match your next investor’s ticket and terms, providing critical support in a challenging funding environment.
4. Global Network and Long-Term Support
Partnering with Antler means more than just funding. Founders gain access to a global community of investors, operators, and fellow entrepreneurs, as well as expertise and connections across Antler’s worldwide portfolio.
