The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is inviting applications from passionate and socially conscious university students to join the UNDP Student Ambassador Programme (2026 cycle).

What Is the UNDP Student Ambassador Programme?

The UNDP Student Ambassador Programme is a 5–6 month non-internship engagement designed for university students who want to act as advocates for UNDP’s mission, values, and work on sustainable development.

Rather than functioning as an internship, the programme serves as a leadership and outreach platform, enabling students to:

  • Promote awareness of UNDP’s work and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

  • Represent UNDP within their universities and student communities

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is strictly open to students currently enrolled in a degree programme at a recognised university.

Applicants should:

  • Be undergraduate or graduate students

  • Demonstrate interest in sustainable development and global issues

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be fluent in English

  • Be willing to actively promote UNDP for one academic semester

Experience in event planning, content creation, social media management, public speaking, or community engagement is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.

UNDP Student Ambassador Responsibilities

Selected ambassadors will be expected to dedicate approximately two hours per week and carry out the following activities:

  • Promote UNDP’s mission, values, and career opportunities on campus
