Overview

The Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) has announced the recruitment of up to two Pre-Doctoral Researchers to join its ERC-funded project “Rural Structural Transformation in Developing Countries” (RUSTDEC). This is an exceptional opportunity for early-career researchers in economics who want to gain hands-on experience in high-impact, international research while preparing for a future PhD.

The positions are based at LISER’s premises in Belval, Luxembourg, and are offered on a 12-month fixed-term full-time contract, with the possibility of extension for an additional 12 months.

About the RUSTDEC Project

RUSTDEC investigates the causes and consequences of structural transformation in developing countries, with a particular focus on how these processes interact with climate change. The project is funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and is embedded within LISER’s Crossing Borders & Migration Research Programme.

Pre-Doctoral Researchers will work under the supervision of the project’s Principal Investigator, Dr. André Groeger, alongside work-package-specific collaborators, gaining exposure to cutting-edge empirical research and international academic networks.
