About the Gender and Health Summer Institute

The Gender and Health Summer Institute is a fully virtual learning programme offering nineteen specialized short courses delivered across June, July, and August 2026. Each course runs for two to five half-days, making them accessible to professionals balancing work and study.

Courses are taught live on Zoom from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time, enabling real-time interaction with expert faculty and peers.

Participants can choose from a wide range of applied and analytical topics, including:

  • Gender analysis in health and development

  • Digital health and gender equity

  • Monitoring and evaluation

  • Gender-responsive budgeting

Courses are open to both Hopkins and non-Hopkins participants, and are available for credit or non-credit, depending on eligibility.

Eligibility Requirements

For-credit / degree-seeking applicants

  • Must be enrolled in a Johns Hopkins graduate-level (or higher) programme

  • Must meet any course-specific enrollment requirements

Non-degree / not-for-credit applicants

  • Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree or possess relevant professional experience suitable for graduate-level coursework

  • Must meet any course-specific enrollment requirements

Full Scholarship Information

A limited number of full-tuition scholarships are available through a competitive selection process.

Key scholarship details:

  • Applicants may apply for up to two courses (one application per course)

  • Each selected candidate can receive only one scholarship

  • Scholarships cover full tuition for the awarded course
