Role Overview: Corporate Partnerships Officer
WWF South Africa is seeking a dynamic and driven Corporate Partnerships Officer to support the growth, management, and strategic engagement of the WWF Business Network. This role focuses on acquiring new corporate partners, deepening relationships with existing partners, and securing both financial and in-kind contributions towards WWF’s conservation mission.
The position combines research, stakeholder engagement, partnership cultivation, and administrative coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage potential corporate partners for new business opportunities.
- Conduct due diligence on prospective partners and research sustainability trends.
- Support the Corporate Partnerships team in achieving key performance indicators.
- Grow the WWF Business Network through corporate recruitment and relationship development.
- Coordinate Business Network Meetings and other WWF corporate events.
- Maintain strong relationships with business network partners, ensuring retention and value delivery.
- Handle administrative tasks including issuing S18A certificates, thank-you letters, SED letters, and travel/event arrangements.
- Promote corporate engagement in global ESG frameworks such as TCFD, ACA, SBTi, and SBTN.
- Update CRM tools (e.g., Netsuite) and maintain accurate corporate portfolio records.
- Assist with proposal development, reporting, and corporate communications (newsletters, annual reviews).
- Support fundraising campaigns including Earth Hour and Journey of Water.
- Facilitate corporate employee engagement activities and cross-team collaboration.
- Identify opportunities for deeper corporate involvement in WWF projects and transformational partnerships.
- Secure additional financial and in-kind sponsorships as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Communications, Business Management, Sustainability, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate relations, marketing, fundraising, sustainability, or similar roles.
- Prior experience in the nonprofit or corporate sector (essential).
- Understanding of conservation or business sustainability (advantageous).
- Proven experience in fundraising, customer engagement, or corporate partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of CSR/CSI, corporate fundraising, BBBEE, shared value, and sustainability concepts.
- Excellent research, communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM databases.
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and multitasking abilities.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceeding targets.
