The European Defence Agency (EDA) has announced the opening of applications for its prestigious one-year paid Traineeship Programme, set to commence in September 2026. This initiative offers 20 positions across various specialized fields, including Cyber, Space, Industry, Communications, and more.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the traineeship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Nationality: Must be a citizen of one of the Member States participating in the EDA.
• Education: Candidates must have completed at least a three-year cycle of higher education (university degree or equivalent) by the application deadline.
• Languages: A strong command of at least two languages from participating Member States, including English, is required.
• Relevant Background: The applicant’s academic or professional background must align with the activities of the Directorate/Unit for which they apply.
• Personnel Security Clearance Certificate (PSCC): A clearance may be required for specific roles.
• Previous Experience: Candidates who have previously completed a paid or unpaid traineeship exceeding six weeks in another European institution or body are not eligible.

Traineeship Details

• Start Date: September 2025 (beginning either on the 1st or 16th of the month).
• Duration: 12 months, non-renewable.
• Allowance: Monthly stipend of €1,500
• Meal Allowance: Fixed monthly amount.
• Support for Disabled Trainees: Additional financial support, up to 50% of the allowance, may be granted to cover extra costs related to disabilities.
• Insurance: Health and accident insurance is mandatory.

• Selection: Applicants can apply for a maximum of two positions, specifying their preference in a motivation letter.
