Role Overview
Under guidance from the Head of the Institutional Engagement Unit, the Junior Collaborator will:
• Conduct research on development actors and humanitarian–development–peace nexus issues
• Map partnership and funding opportunities with global development institutions
• Support online and in-person capacity-sharing and learning initiatives
• Track partnerships and contribute to key strategic work of the Department

Key Responsibilities
1. Mapping & Research

Research development actors including governmental, UN, regional, and financial institutions

Identify partnership and funding possibilities for capacity building and strategic projects.

Analyze trends in protection, displacement, and sustainable responses.
2. Support & Outreach

Support capacity-sharing initiatives like online courses.

Maintain and update the Department’s internal partnerships tracker.

Assist with documentation and reporting on development engagement activities.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Mandatory
1. University degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies, or related field.
2. Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
3. Fluency in English (other UN languages are a plus).
4. Commitment to humanitarian and protection work in displacement contexts.
Desirable
1. Experience with international development projects or institutions.
2. Familiarity with refugee, migration, and statelessness law frameworks.
3. Knowledge of instructional design or online capacity-building platforms.
