Gain Practical Experience in Political Action by applying for the Her Bold Move Future Leaders Fellowship

Students interested in political leadership, community organizing, and campaign strategy now have the opportunity to apply for the Her Bold Move Future Leaders Fellowship Summer 2026. This virtual fellowship program is designed to help emerging leaders gain practical experience in political action while learning how to support and elect progressive women across the United States.

The program is open to students from anywhere in the country who are passionate about civic engagement and strengthening women’s representation in government. Through a structured fellowship experience, participants will build leadership skills, learn directly from experienced professionals in politics and advocacy, and contribute to real campaign efforts.

What the Her Bold Move Fellowship Offers

The Her Bold Move Future Leaders Fellowship was created to provide students with direct exposure to the world of political organizing and campaigning. The program focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support political candidates and advocacy efforts that aim to increase women’s representation in government.

Over the course of the program, fellows will gain experience in several key areas of political work, including:

  • Political organizing and grassroots engagement
  • Campaign strategy and electoral processes
  • Fundraising and donor outreach
  • Communications and advocacy
  • Leadership development and civic participation

Participants will also have the opportunity to work on active campaigns supporting female candidates running for office across the country. This hands-on experience allows fellows to see how campaign operations function in real time while contributing meaningfully to political initiatives.

Why This Fellowship Matters

Despite progress in recent years, women remain underrepresented in many areas of government leadership. Programs like the Her Bold Move Future Leaders Fellowship aim to help address this gap by supporting the next generation of political organizers and advocates.

By providing training, mentorship, and direct campaign experience, the fellowship helps participants develop the tools needed to contribute to political movements and support female candidates running for office.

For many fellows, the program can also serve as an entry point into careers in political campaigns, advocacy organizations, policy work, or nonprofit leadership.

Participants leave the program with a stronger understanding of political organizing and a network of peers and mentors who share a commitment to civic engagement and gender equity in leadership.

Program Structure and Commitment

The fellowship runs as a structured virtual program that combines training, discussions with experts, and practical campaign involvement. Fellows will participate in weekly online sessions and additional program activities designed to help them deepen their understanding of political organizing.

The Summer 2026 program includes:

  • Weekly virtual meetings on Thursdays from 6:00–8:00 PM ET
  • Sessions beginning in June 2026
  • Approximately 4–5 hours of total commitment per week

Attendance at all Zoom sessions is required, and fellows are expected to keep their cameras on during meetings to ensure active participation and engagement with the program.

In addition to weekly discussions and guest speaker sessions, fellows will have the opportunity to develop their own projects that reflect their interests and leadership goals. This component allows participants to apply what they learn while building experience that can strengthen their future careers in politics, advocacy, or public service.

Learn from Leaders Across the Political Field

One of the key features of the fellowship is the opportunity to learn directly from professionals working across different areas of politics and advocacy. Guest speakers throughout the program may include women leaders from fields such as:

  • Political campaigns
  • Advocacy organizations
  • Communications and media
  • Law and policy
  • Electoral strategy

These sessions provide fellows with insights into career paths in politics and advocacy, while also offering opportunities to ask questions and gain practical advice from experienced leaders.

For students considering careers in political organizing, campaign management, policy work, or advocacy, this fellowship offers a valuable introduction to the field.
