Scholarship Value and Benefits
The Sussex Progressive Futures Scholarship provides recipients with £10,000 as a tuition fee reduction. The scholarship is funded through a generous donation from a University of Sussex alumna who supports the institution’s mission to nurture global changemakers.
In addition to financial relief, recipients become part of a distinguished group of scholars connected to interdisciplinary research and innovation. The scholarship may also be combined with other Sussex funding opportunities, including:

If the combined scholarship value exceeds the full tuition fee, the remaining funds may be paid as cash maintenance support after enrolment, subject to the university’s terms and conditions.

The scholarship is available for selected postgraduate taught Master’s programmes that fall under three interdisciplinary transformational themes:
1. Digital and Data Futures
This category focuses on technological advancement, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making. Eligible programmes include:

2. Environmental Sustainability
Programmes under this theme prepare students to tackle climate challenges, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. Eligible courses include:

3. Human Flourishing
This theme supports programmes addressing social development, education, migration, and global peace. Eligible programmes include:

The University of Sussex will award 10 scholarships to eligible students for the 2026 academic intake.
